Downsizers 2018

Despite using it myself, I have to admit that the word “downsizers” is a misnomer as I have found that some of my clients who are searching for a new start are actually buying something the same size or even bigger than their current home. What they are looking for is not necessarily less space but rather a welcome change in lifestyle.

What stops many people from making a move from their long-term home is the confusion of how to get rid of the years of items that have accumulated in closets and basements.

A second factor that keeps people immobile is the stress of having to put their house on the market and all of the perceived inconveniences.

Let me put your mind at ease. For the moment ignore the problem of getting rid of belongings. Simply focus on where you would like your next home to be. Is it a smaller house in the same neighbourhood? Is it a condo in one of the buildings nearby or are you looking for a total change either to another area of the Toronto or even an area that is outside of the city?
